Region 6 Workforce Investment Board — Douglas County

Private Sector businesses and representatives of WIA Title 1B provider Umpqua Training & Employment, Oregon Employment Department, Department of Human Services and Umpqua Community College are actively involved in monthly meetings and quarterly forums of education and workforce development for the region. Diversity of members offers a constant colloquy of ideas, needs, activities and opportunities. DCRWIB supports and promotes the best possible education, training, employment and service delivery for residents of Douglas County, works diligently to address workforce issues by communicating with federal and state organizations, maintaining an awareness funding sources for training purposes, advising on regional and local needs of workforce development. Members participate, correspond and interact with Oregon Workforce Investment Board and The Oregon Consortium/Oregon Workforce Alliance on a consistent basis. DCRWIB is uniquely different from other workforce investment boards as it is committee of the Roseburg Area Chamber of Commerce, providing a direct link to the business community.
