Description:
As Jackson and Josephine Counties' workforce board under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the Rogue Valley Workforce Development Council (RVWDC) has recently adopted a strategic course to align the services of education, economic development, and workforce development partners with demand-driven skills needs of local high wage, high growth industries and occupations in traded sector industries, such as manufacturing, and in other key local industries like healthcare and construction. Led by business and economic development members, the RVWDC is currently surveying the workforce needs of numerous traded sector businesses poised for growth over the next 12-24 months, such as small to medium sized manufacturing concerns heavily invested in CNC technology for production. With education and workforce partners at the table the RVWDC is assessing the aggregated needs of key industries and will invest the resources at the disposal of the RVWDC to develop the human capital to fill the needs of businesses.
