Description:

MWHPC began in 2006 with the purpose of supporting the implementation of lean in manufacturing businesses throughout the region. The purpose expanded to supporting the implementation of lean in any type of business that benefited from the training.

MWHPC is now comprised of a group of manufacturing businesses throughout Polk, Yamhill, and Marion Counties dedicated to ensuring all Mid-Willamette manufacturers are high performing, profitable, and thriving in the global economy. MWHPC objectives include: provide a forum for collaboration and learning among members; provide resources to companies for training and growth; help members set continuous improvement benchmarks; and share information through a growing network of members. Consortium goals include increasing the capacity of companies currently involved in high performance activities and the number of companies actively using high performance strategies. MWHPC is led by a strong steering committee which meets at least monthly to plan events, tours, workshops, and training for consortium members and other interested companies.

The consortium has quarterly meetings and a calendar of trainings, learning tours, set-up reduction exercises, forums with lean experts such as OMEP, Gary Conner and Mike Rother and lean certification workshops. MWHPC partners with Chemeketa Community College to offer training to its membership.
