"Manufacturing Central" is a gateway to research, statistics and news about manufacturing designed by the NAM Manufacturing Institute. The Manufacturing Institute is the research and education arm of the National Assocoation of Manufacturers (NAM), building intellectual support and raising understanding among policymakers, the media, educators and potential workers about manufacturing’s contributions to the quality of American life, the challenges facing the sector and its excellent, technologically sophisticated career opportunities. The Institute’s goal is to raise the understanding about modern manufacturing to generate far more favorable government policies and spur greater interest in manufacturing careers.  The Institute sponsors the national Dream It. Do It. campaign with a goal to make manufacturing the career of choice among young talent by 2010.
