In order to place their fingers on the pulse of small manufacturing firms in Oregon, the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department (OECDD) and the Oregon Manufacturing Extension Partnership (OMEP) asked Riley Research Associates to conduct a survey focused on Lean Manufacturing. Riley Research Associates, OECDD, and OMEP developed this survey as an exploration of Oregon’s small manufacturing firms’ perceptions and use of Lean Manufacturing. Specifically, the project goals were to gauge current levels of awareness, measure the current levels of use, determine key benefits and barriers, and identify most frequently used information sources.
